For the most part, electricity does not travel through a bass. The magnetic poles, or pickups on a bass are basically magnets. The magnetic pickupsreceive vibrations from the metal strings. The strings are attracted to the magnets but do not touch them. Therefore, whenever you pluck a string, the vibration travels through the magnets and out the input. The electricity that travels out of the bass is really low, just the power of the magnets working, but that's where amps get involved.

Amps receive the low emit ion through the pickups and with added gain, amplify the sound (make it louder). The amps make it louder by using tubes. The low emotion goes through one side of the tube and comes out with a higher output and eventually into the speaker.

The sound of the Electric Guitar comes from electromagnetic induction that converts it to vibrations then into electric signals. Bit when the electric signals come out they are to weak so they are amplified using a audio amplifier before then sending it to loud speaker.
