Basically they are tracking down the wild Jaguars and trying to put them in zoos. This is good because they can then have sex and make little baby jaguars (I HOPE I DONT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE DETAILS)

Jaguars are the apex predators in their habitats, so they don't have any natural predators to protect themselves from. In cases of other types of danger, they use their acute senses (especially hearing and eyesight) to detect it, and, if it isn't an animal, they would probably flee, perhaps climbing a tree. Mothers protect their cubs by hiding them before the former hunt.
