The AIR pump, pumps clean air into the burnt exhaust gasses that is in the exhaust system/pipes and cleans it up before it exits the tail pipe.

First of all, Chevy stopped making the 5.7L 350 engine in late 1999 The oil pump that's in your engine is behind the timing cover on the front of the engine and not in the oil pan.
The big fan that is on the front of the engine is bolted to the water pump.
