Originally the television was sent in the form of a type of side band transmission. The picture was sent on half of the signal and the audio was sent on the other side of the signal. We do not have room to go into the theory of sideband transmission here. Anyhow Since the two parts are sent in a way analogous to a car pulling a small trailer, it is as if electronic devices unhooked the trailer. Picture the video part as the car and the sound as the little trailer. The video goes to the monitor and the sound to the speakers.
hitachi tv has sound no picture
Picture is AM, sound is AM or FM
Sound and picture are transmitted on separate cables for Cable TV providers.
If you have hooked up your DVD player and get sound but no picture, try changing the picture source from TV to AV 1.
sound waves don't have enough room
LM is video (picture)CM is auto (sound)
The colors and the picture need to come into focus where as the sound is already in clear pitch.
Try changing the source on the television to AV1 if you only have sound but no picture from a DVD player. If it is on TV it will not play a DVD.
