Capillaries are sites for gas exchange. Since they are numerous, they have a large surface area. Their walls are very thin (one cell layer), making it easy for oxygen and carbon dioxide to diffuse through them. Athar Anjum

as u know that capillaries are narrow and the smallest vessel the flow of blood is faster in capillary than in any vessel.The smaller the area the faster the blood flow and blood carries oxygen and other nutrients with it so faster would be the exchange of those nutrients.
