A person can contribute to the social fabric, or make it worse. When someone violates social norms, the impact is negative. When someone does volunteer work, obeys the law, is a good neighbor, participates in the voting process, stays informed about local issues, this effects the social environment in positive ways. Overall, the best thing a human being can do to have a positive impact is to live a life exercising strengths of character.
