"Fever" does not spread from person to person. Infections that cause fever do. These infections can spread many ways including: coughing, sneezing, eating after a sick person, etc. The mode of transfer depends on what the infection is; for example, was it caused by a bacteria or virus.

To stop the spread of infection and keep yourself healthy, simply practice good hygiene like washing hands before eating.

No, a fever itself is not contagious, but whatever is causing the fever may be. Typically when you have a fever your body is producing an immune response to either a bacterial or viral infection, both of which are contagious.
