Plastic wont decompose, cause of the sun it will fall apart into little pieces and other animals will eat it by mistake, especially fish in the oceans. There was a study in Japan that showed how some chemical in plastic caused infertility in women. Around 2 million people die each year cause of pollution. Garbage and air pollution from factories will affect fresh water and air quality. Some of the theories are if we wont pick up the trash your mom will get mad at you.

Garbage, in general, it isn't so bad. Every organism produce it, but the human garbage contains materials that aren't easily descompose, like plastic or cristal, and the product of this materials in a junkjard along with high temperatures can create dangerous chemicals and contaminate the soil and water resources.
