In sexual reproduction, a Zygote is accually the name for the egg (or ovum) that was fertalized by a sperm. In asexual reproduction where a daughter cell is produced, there is no fertilization. The "mother cell" duplicates itself to form another identical (or daughter) cell.

Tecnically yes. As you know a zygote consists of the fusion of two gametes ( in this case an ova and a sperm). Gametes are produced through meiosis, so essentially they result in haploids(half, in this case 23) of the diploid (Whole, a complete set of chromosome pairs: 46 total chromosomes for humans) amount of chromosomes. Given that both gametes contribute their "haploid" genetic code to form a diploid zygote; it is a random combination of both that is identical to each of their parents genetically.

Hope this helps!!!!

The most obvious difference is that zygote are haploid, meaning that they contain only half the full complement of chromosomes in a somatic cell. There are also structural difference between the sperm and the egg and the zygote of different species.

Eggs cells are haploid cells. In that they have half the chromosomes as compared to other body cells.

How does DNA in offspring produced by asexual reproduction compare to DNA in offspring produced by sexual reproduction?

If an offspring was produced through asexual reproduction, its genes will be exactly like its parent. This is more or less a clone of the parent. An example of this is a bacterium. If an offspring is produced through sexual reproduction, it will contain genes from both parents. (such as humans)

What is the individual produced by asexual reproduction called?

yes

Why is asexual reproduction cloning?

cloning is asexual reproduction because asexual reproduction is to have an organism be produced by only one organism. So the item you clone is producing another organism.

Why is offspring produced by asexual reproduction identical to the parent that produced them?

There are no genetics

How can an organism produced by asexual reproduction be unique an different from its parent?

A organism can be unique and different from its parent when mutation occurs during DNA replication.
