Yes. Alaska is the largest US state by area. Louisiana does have a higher population. The original French territory of Louisiana (New France) may have been larger in size than Alaska, depending on the actual extent of French claims to the Mississippi Valley.
in the late 1600's and early 1700's we had whats called the Louisiana Purchase, which is when we bought the Louisiana Territory from the French and I belive the Alaska Territory was bought in the late 1800's and early 1900's. We bought the Alaska Territory from the Russians.
Alaska does not have any counties. Alaska and Louisiana are the only states that do not call their administrative subdivisions counties. Alaska is divided into 19 boroughs and one "Unorganized Borough".
