How far is it from Palm Beach Waiheke Island Auckland to Onetangi Waiheke Island Auckland?

I live in Palm beach and can say there are two ways to get to Onetangi - along the cliff and some twisty roads via Crescent Road east and this is around 2.1 km less than the main "Onetangi road" via Ostend village. Total distance is around 4.6km I think but the long way is straight roads so takes around the same time frame or maybe 8-10mins either way. (by car) There is no direct bus from Palm beach to Onetangi but if one walked the tracks across a farm then you could get to the east end of Onetangi beach within maybe 20mins. This really depends on the type of things you like but as an Aucklander here are a few of my favourites... - The Auckland Museum - The domain - The shops in Ponsonby, Krd and Queen Street (and the little streets around these areas) - Mt Eden - The beaches Herne bay, Bethels beach etc - The cafes in Kingsland - Trips on the ferry to Waiheke Island or Rangitoto and I find that Auckland is great to just explore on the buses, going to less touristy places Dominion rd, Grey lynn, anywhere you can find. But that might just be me as a local :)
