The circumference of the earth at the equator is 40,075.02 Km.

So therefore the distance travels in 1 hour is equal to 40075.02/24 which equals 1669.79 Km each hour

that is a rough calculation, where the distinction between solar days and celestial days is not taken into account. in a solar day, the earth actually rotates 360 plus 360/365 degrees. roughly 1.003 revolutions, which is 40,185 km. this divided by 24 equals 1674 km

You should specify, speed (or distance), as compared to what? The results will vary. In its orbit around the Sun, Earth travels about 30 kilometers every second.

This is a famous question in the history of science. This was to find the speed of the earth relative to the "ether", which was believed to support the propagation of light. The result came out as precisely zero, leading to the ditching of the ether, the development of the theory of relativity, and modern physics. I suspect you might mean relative to the sun, about 35 miles per second I think - no doubt someone has a more accurate answer. You can work it out for yourself using the fact that in 1 year the earth goes roughly in a circle of diameter the earth's orbit.

Is the average distance from earth to the sun a light-year?

No. The distance from the Earth to the Sun is 8 light-minutes.It takes light 8 minutes to travel from the Sun to the Earth, in other words. The distance that light can travel in one year is one light-year.

How far do you travel for a one hour time change?

We travel about 1670.45 kms per hour relative to the space. Earth takes full circle in 24 hrs. So total distance covered in 24 hrs by any body present on the surface of the earth is equal to the circumference of the earth, which is 2*pi*r where "r" the radius of earth is 6378.1 kms.

Distance the earth moves in one hour in km?

40,000 km / 24 hours, about 1700 km/hour.

How many kilometers in one lightyear per hour?

A light year is the distance that light will travel in a vacuum in a year. Nothing can travel that distance in an hour so a lightyear per hour is a meaningless concept of speed. Though impossible to attain, it is a measure of speed while a kilometre is a measure of distance. There is no direct relationship between the two.

Is a light year measured in distance?

Not really. A light year is a measure of distance. It is the distance light can travel in one earth year, about 6 trillion miles

How long is 47 miles to travel?

If the question refers to the time taken for a journey then this obviously depends on the speed of travel. Velocity (or speed) = Distance ÷ Time. So Time = Distance ÷ Velocity. Example : If you were travelling at 40 mph (miles per hour) then the time taken is 47/40 = 1.175 of an hour which equals 1 hour and 10½ minutes.

If you are Traveling at 6.2 miles per second what is the distance traveled in 1 hour?

At 6.2 miles per second you would travel 22,320 miles in one hour.

What is the distance and travel time between Sydney and Gosford?

It is 74km from Sydney's CBD to Gosford. Travel time is an estimated one hour and twenty minutes, depending on traffic.

The distance from earth to the moon is about 240000 miles the Ulysses spacecraft can travel about 30000 miles in one hour how long would it take Ulysses to travel 240000 miles?

80 hours. It's different going from the earth to the moon because you travel along large ellipses. There is also the issue of accelerating and decelerating. If Ulysses flew by the earth and moon in a straight line, it would only take eight hours to pass.

What is the Distance from Bath to Worcester?

How many light years is the earth to the moon?

The distance from the Moon to Earth is a little more than one light-SECOND, meaning it takes light a little over a second to travel that distance.
