Dropping of Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima?

On August 5, 1945 the Little Boy atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. The B-29 Bomber Enola Gay carried the bomb to Japan. Once the bomb was dropped the blast came fast. Nearly 70,000 Hiroshima townspeople were killed or injured. Some were literally "incinerated" instantly. Those who did survive suffered from burns, injuries and radiation sickness. For many years after the blast people became sick with cancer and other related diseases. See related link below.

What kind of nuclear weapons were used during Pearl Harbor?

No nuclear weapons were used in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 as such weapons did not exist and would not exist until July 1945 when the US built the first ones. The first use of a nuclear weapon in war was the US attack on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945; the bomb was a relatively simple and very inefficient (~1%) fast fission neutron chain reaction Uranium-235 (80% enrichment) gun bomb.

When they dropped th bomb on Hiroshima did Hiroshima have a defense or a base on it or did the United States violate the treaty that was signed?

i have not found out if there is a base on Hiroshima. i think the united states broke the treaty and bombed a town that had no defense and no military base. The Allies began bombing the cities of Germany and Japan in order to bring the war to an end. The cities were centers of manufacture of supplies and equipment used in the war. Japan industry was based on small family companies that produced limited items for the war effort. These small facilities were intermingled among the civilian homes that resulted in a high loss of civilian life. I don't know of a treaty that was broke. The rules of warfare was set forth by the Geneva Convention---maybe that is what you refer to. we signed a treaty saying that we would not bomb any civilian area that did not have a base around that area and or a defensive perimeter. There was a recent book published on Hiroshima(in last 15 years) that relates how some Americans Prisoners of War were killed by the bombing---as I recall. If they were held there, then there must have been an army base of some type. k thanks that was a big help to my project thanks allot if u have more information please feel free to write more In his radio speech to the nation on August 9, President Truman called Hiroshima "a military base." Check out the Link provided. During the Sino-Japanese War that lasted from 1894 to 1895, the Imperial Headquarters was moved to Hiroshima. Army facilities and an important military center were also placed in Hiroshima. Ninoshima is a small island, just off the coast of Hiroshima City. Ninoshima was a part of Niho-mura, Aki-gun. Niho-mura became a part of the city of Hiroshima in April 1929. At the start of the Sino-Japanese War, an army quarantine station was built on Ninoshima to serve as the first stop for soldiers returning from the front. Immediately after the atomic bombing, this quarantine station became an emergency field hospital. In 20 days it received about 10,000 injured victims arriving from Hiroshima. Thousands upon thousands died on that island. Since the war, bodies have been found and exhumed on several occasions. Q: well now what about Nagasaki did that have a base 2 cause that was a secondary target so what about that and they were going to surrender anyways so why did we drop a bomb and waist material when they were going to do it any ways that is a waist of the money that people were using to buy war bonds why would they waist that much yes i understand that it ended that war fast but they were going to surrender cause this was the time that Russia was entering. that is what i don't understand that war cost a lot of money to the people and wifes that were not on the front for people that were poor got little out of it. well Russia joined and then japan started to surrender because they new that Russia has the most man power and could rule and country so japan was going to surrender any ways so why did we drop the bomb on japan. Answer: The US gave Japan a chance to surrender after the first bomb was dropped. They refused, so Nagasaki was bombed. I believe there are other Questions on this site that discusses the reasons for the use of the atomic bombs. but when Russia joined the fight they were already going to surrender so there was no point.

It depends if you like big things that bomb(Cruiser) or fast and agile fighters(Gunship). I would recommend the Gunship though.
