Goats will start to grow their horns at about 2-3 months of age or even sooner.
A goat's horns do not stop growing but continue to grow throughout their life. They grow at a very slow rate when the goat is fully grown.

It hits you with its horn.
This is typically done when they are very young, a few days to a few weeks old. They are taken to a veterinarian who burns the horn stump down to the skull which does not hurt them, though the smell of burning scares them. It is best done before they start growing their stumps too much because it just prolongs the process and misery of the goat.
I would strongly suggest that you get the horn cut!! The horn will not stop growing and therefore will cause serious harm to the animal if it is not delt with.I cannot offer any advice as to how to cut it but you will need to talk to a vet before you try to as it may be considered a significant surgical procedure under the Animal Welfare Act 1999. If it is and you do not seek advice, you may be committing an offence under the act. By not getting the horn cut, you will also be committing an offence.
they may or may not grow back, if it is injured at the base of the horn the horn my grow out again at an unusual angle

More recently, they are made from woven straw in the shape of a goat's horn. Cornucopias made of any material, appear as they do to show in appearance like that of the original; the horn of the goat.
