Can the clutch on 1998 Frontiers be adjusted?

Most Nissan trucks with manual transmissions, since the early 1980s, have hydraulic clutches which are auto adjusting. If the slave cylinder goes bad it may seem that the clutch needs to be adjusted. The only resolution is to rebuild or replace the slave cylinder. If it is not bad the only resolution is to replace the clutch. It is always best to replace the the clutch plate, the pressure plate, the throwout bearing and the pilot bearing at the same time. If the transmission has much over 50k to 60k miles on it the flywheel should be taken to a machine shop and resurfaced (turned). Some flywheels, by design, cannot be resurfaced. If this is the case the flywheel will need to be replaced at the same time as the clutch, etc. No matter how many miles the transmission has on it, if the flywheel appears to have what looks like different color patches that means that it has be subjected to uneven heat, usually caused by the clutch, etc not being replaced in time or having been put under excessive load. If this is the case the flywheel should be resurfaced or replaced regardless of the milage.

What are the Common faults on a Ford Mondeo Ghia TDDi?

One of the common faults is clutch dust falling into the starter motor which is created by the dual composite flywheel. When too much dust gets in it the starter motor does not work and needs to be taken out and cleaned. This is ONLY a temporary solution. This occurs more frequently towards the end of the life of the clutch. Only answer is to replace clutch aswell as the flywheel. Approx cost parts and labour £650 NOT cheap.

How long should a clutch last on a car?

The lifespan of the clutch on the car is about 90,000 miles, but if prper care is taken, the clutch usually lasts longer. Here are some of the clutches used in the car.: Performance Clutches : These clutches can usually last longer unlike the ordinary clutches. Even driving hard and improper care will also make not much difference to these types. Try not to downshift as it causes the clutches to decrease its lifespan. Downshifting not just breaks the clutch but also the engine.

Where and how to top up clutch fluid in 1999 Renault espace 2.2dt?

you cant top it up. you have to buy a genuine Renault clutch hydrolics kit.don't mistake this with a clutch kit tho. it is a big job to put it in. the whole dash has to be taken out of the car. my 2000 expression has had a clutch kit fitted and the reservoir is behind the steering column. you do have to take the trim off around the steering wheel.

How do you replace a water pump in a BMW 3 series?

The first thing you need to do is empty the radiator by the drain cock located on the bottom of the radiator. It is on the driver side of U.S. vehicles. You should be able to contain the two gallons of fluid. Next take off the upper radiator hose both ends. the water pump is behind fan clutch. You will need to remove the plastic fan housing, the fan and fan clutch. You will need a large special wrench (1 1/4 inch or metric equivalent) made for the fan nut which is reverse threaded. After you have removed the fan clutch you can remove the thermostat housing. Look at the thermostat and replace being careful to orient it the new one the correct way. There should be an arrow indicating which way is up on the thermostat. Normally there is a pinhole in the thermostat that needs to be oriented up. The water pump is located behind where the fan clutch was taken off. remove the bolts pull the old pump out making sure there are no pieces of it left in the engine block. Install the pump, fan clutch, fan, fan housing and replace all hoses using new hose clamps( you will have to cut the originals off). replace two gallons of BMW approved antifreeze and water wetter and bleed the system via the bleed screw. Note: when you take the old water pump and thermostat housing out you should expect a gush of antifreeze to follow. The fan spins on to the left by hand and there is no need to use a wrench. You should also upgrade to an aluminum thermostat housing and new housing gaskets as this is a weak point in the system. A new reservoir and level indicator is also a good idea along with radiator if so inclined.
