we understand much more than we normally do. chemistry has changed our world because almost all of the items that are incorporated into our everyday lives are chemistry! chemistry has showed us that alot of things were created on accident, by mixing two different elements,or just plain expirementing! our world would probably not fathum without chemistry!

It has gone from a boxing glove hit with a broom stick to aluminum bats hitting leather covered balls. People wear jerseys now along with gear instead of being a catcher without any protection pads. Kitten ball is another name for softball. Softball was invented in 1887 and was designed to be an indoor sport. In 1895, a member of the Minneapolis, Minnesota fire department named Lewis Rober invented outdoor softball and named it Kitten League Ball, which was subsequently shortened to Kitten Ball. The name was changed from kitten ball to diamond ball in 1922 and eventually to softball in 1926.
Alchemist were not really chemists but people who "randomly" mixed substances in the vein hope of turning them into the most perfect substance; gold or silver. ( Hence why gold was represented by a perfect circle, and silver by a crescent, as silver wasn't as "perfect" as gold.) But they laid the the foundations of what we now call modern chemistry.
