How has culture influenced art?
This question, in my opinion, is best discussed over a bottle of wine, and good friends who can remain that after the conversation. There is too much to contribute to this answer and I think all of us have something to add. For me, history, personal experiences and observations in diverse cultures are my contributions.
The Romans were fascinated and influenced by the Greek culture. They admired the art and literature of the Greeks and introduced them in Rome. They brought the Greek paintings and sculptures into Rome and imitated them. They also imitated the Greek poems and literature. Art and literature were the most important of the Greek culture.
There was no such thing as the Greco-Romans. Greco-Roman is a term which refers to art and culture. The Romans became strongly influenced by Greek art and culture and the term refers to the similarities which developed between the two, especially in art. This art had a strong influence of European art from the Renaissance to the mid-20th century.

Material culture can include anything from buildings to jewelry and household objects.
