Answer 1

Basically the same, but Iraq and SA had oil as it's main resource, while Iran had Nuclear Power as it's main source. Iran is more prominent Muslim.

Answer 2

Iran and Saudi Arabia are incredibly different. Saudi Arabia is a monarchy that supports a strong religious apparatus in the hands of Wahabbi Sunni Muslims. While there is certainly a high level of cooperation between Chief Saudi Imams and the Royal Family, they are very different institutions. Iran is a Theocracy with the Supreme Council of Ayatollahs reigning in the Islamic Republic. The Ayatollahs represent a particular view of Twelver Shi'a Islam. Saudi Arabia is primarily a desert region and has minimal population density. As a result, Saudi Arabia hosts a vast number of guest workers to fill even the most basic occupations. Iran, by contrast, is the most ethnically diverse place in the Middle East after Israel. There are at least 80 minor ethnic groups and several different religions in Iran. The Iranian landscape is very hilly and mountainous in some regions, flat and desert-like in other regions, and very thickly forested in others. Iran, on account of international sanctions, has widespread poverty and a failed economy. The Saudi Arabian Royal Family prefers to use their nation's oil money personally instead of socially, resulting in widespread poverty among native Saudis.

Iraq has historically been a relatively secular country and the religious leaders do not hold political office in that country. (Ayatollah Al-Sistani has refused to take part in political affairs although he mandates his followers to vote based on conscience.) Religiously it is divided between a Shiite majority and a Sunni minority. Iraq also is a predominantly bi-ethnic state having an Arab majority and a Kurdish minority in the North. As opposed to Iran or Saudi Arabia, Iraq has regional militias which are unified in purpose but loyal to the provinces and their tribes as opposed to the National Government. Iraq also has the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers which provide significant amounts of water to irrigate the country. This makes Iraq quite fertile even though it is mostly lowland.
