Basically they are the same in that they are treating ailments in physical bodies. They are different in that one is treating animals and the other is treating humans, children. Veerinarians even though they specialize in treating animals often know a lot about the human body and physiology through their training to become animal doctors. They have to know this because some of the same medications given to animals are used in humans even smaller humans known as children. Pediatricians are medical docotrs first then specialize in the treatment of children.

Some podiatrists might be a better doctor than some of your general practitioners! A pediatrician is simply a doctor that specializes in children. Some treat under 18 and others will still treat patients under 21.
