They are both cats. Both have spots.
They are both animals.
Cheetahs and Leopards are smilar as Leopards and Cheetahs can get mixed up between each other. This is because of their markings which look similar, but the Leopard has rosettes and the Cheetah does not. The cheetah is also distinctive because of its tear like markings on its face, its body is slimmer and lightweight to help the cheetah run faster.

Leopards and Cheetahs can live in the same habitat (I.e: Africa).

Cheetahs and leopards have many differences. Their bodies are built differently; cheetahs are more slender so they can move faster. Leopards can retract their claws, while cheetahs cannot. Cheetahs also have black lines running down their faces that leopards do not have.
Cheetahs have a much slimmer body with the ability to run short distances very fast and cannot climb trees. Their spots are plain and small. Underneath their eyes they have black 'tear lines' Leopards cannot run as fast, can climb trees and are much heavier built. Their spots are very different to a cheetah's.

The Difference Is... The Cheetah Runs 60 mph but Leopard Runs around the 50 mph and there spots aredifferent.... My Point is that, The Cheetah is the fastest mammal in the world the leopard is not but most people Randomly Guess that the Leopard is faster but its Cheetah its really weird that its the female Cheetah does most hunting the males are mostly looking after there cubs.

leapards have spots inside a circle while cheetahs just have spots

A cheetah is tall with filled in spots on it's body. It also can run up to the speed of 85. A leapord is kinda short and it's spots are not filled in.

cheetahs run faster than leopards

There are several differences between Leopards and Cheetahs. Here are the main ones:

Leopard markings are black rosettes with a brown centre.

Cheetah markings are just simple black spots.

Cheetahs have black lines from their eyes down to their mouth usually called tears

Leopards don't have tears.

Cheetahs are usually slimmer than Leopards.

Cheetahs reach speeds up to 70 miles an hour.

Leopards only reach up to 50 miles an hour.

Cheetahs and Leopards are very different animals.

Physical differences:

  • Leopards have rosette-shaped spots. Cheetahs have solid round, or oval, spots.
  • Leopards have no "tear" line. Cheetahs have a black "tear" line running from the inside of the eye to the mouth.
  • Leopards are bulkier and stronger. Cheetahs are lighter, but taller, than leopard.
  • Leopards have a familiar "cat" shape. Cheetahs are lankier than the "cat" shape.
  • Leopards hunt at night. Cheetahs hunt during the day.
  • Leopards like to drag prey up trees. Cheetahs prefer grassy plains.
  • Leopards rely on stealth. Cheetahs rely on speed (up to 115km/hr) over short distances. They are the world's fastest animal.
  • Leopard have strong teeth and jaws and can crunch through thick bones.
  • Cheetah have smaller teeth and jaws, leaving a larger nasal cavity for rapid breathing. They cannot crunch large bones.

Behavioral differences:

  • Leopards live a solitary life and cheetahs leave as a family.
  • Leopards climb trees for they have retractile claws while cheetahs don't.
  • The cheetah can run at a speed of 112km/hr while leopards do 65km/hr.
  • The two black lines below eyes of the cheetah are known as tear marks and act as reflection absorbers while they are hunting during sunny days.

A leopoad:

  • has a bulkier bone structure,
  • Lives in South America,
  • has a slightly different skin pattern,
A cheetah:
  • Is faster,
  • Has a more slender bone structure,
  • Lives in Africa

A leopard's spots are bigger where as the cheetah*(not spelt cheater) has little kind of dots.

A cheetah is a fast running animal with distinct black markings on the face. They can run quickly for a short time. A leopard is an animal with more spots that climbs trees well, often stashing carcasses in trees that they could not finish.

You can find cheetahs and lions together, not only at the Lion King Disney movie, but at the wild kingdom of Africa. Both are considered big cats of the cat family and meat eaters, they are hunters. Both are "active" animals, with the difference that the cheetah hunts in the day and the lion at the night, but both try to satisfy their carnivorous instinct. Both are resembled in the appearance and have amazing speed. Obviously they are similar in many ways because they belong to the same family, but still, they are different species.

Both are spotted cats, both eat antelopes as their main prey. Cheetahs are much faster, running their prey down, leopards rely on stealth. Leopards are heavier built, and are much better climbers than cheetahs. The claws on a cheetah's feet do retract completely as other cat's do.

Both the lepord and Cheetah have spots. They also are extremely fast, but the lepord is slower than the cheetah. They both eat meat, and they are cats. ^_^
