Genetic information (DNA) is stored/encoded in the basic chemicals/proteins that make up DNA. Starting with four basic states, cells divide and mature, the way they change into organs is controlled by the arrangement of the DNA components, the arrangement of cells, and the arrangement of organs.

DNA's purpose is to code for proteins. A chromosome is one super long strand of DNA, but along sections of the strand are genes. These genes are transcribed into RNA molecules through a process known as transcription. Once the RNA molecule is fully complete it is taken outside the nucleus and a Ribosome takes it. The Ribosome will read the nucleotides in groups of 3 known as codons which have a corresponding amino acid. The amino acids are linked together to form a long chain which in turn becomes a protein which after all, is the ultimate goal.
