Mass is static. Weight depends on factors like gravity and should be expressed in force, not mass.
Example:
A person that weight 80KG (mass), weighs differently (weight) on different parts of the planet (because gravity is different on different parts of the planet). You can easily test it with a very high precision scale :)

- weight is a gravitational phenomenon and depends on both mass and local gravitational field at a surface the object sits on.
If the object is not on a surface it has mass but no weight and freefalls in accordance with the local gravitational field.
