Meiosis has two rounds of genetic separation and cellular division while mitosis only has one of each. In meiosis homologous chromosomes separate leading to daughter cells that are not genetically identical. In mitosis the daughter cells are identical to the parent as well as to each other.

The part of meiosis that is similar to mitosis is inter-phase.

What steps of meiosis are similar to what steps of mitosis?

All steps of meiosis II are similar to the steps of Mitosis

Is meiosis 1 or meiosis 2 more similar to mitosis?

Meiosis 2

How is mitosis and meiosis similar?

Because they are division of something. Meiosis is the division of chromosomes and mitosis is the division of cells.

What are the similarities and not the differences between mitosis and meiosis?

Mitosis and meiosis are both forms of cell division. They both have very similar stages (Meiosis II has a very similar process to mitosis) - Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase.

What is meiosis identical to?

Meiosis II is identical to Mitosis. Meiosis is split into two stages, Meiosis I and Meiosis II. Meiosis I is similar to mitosis however the cells resulting from it have half as many chromosomes as the parent cell.

How are meiosis and mitosis similar and how are they different?

meiosis produces four cells, but mitosis produces two cells. apex :D

What is one way that mitosis and meiosis are similar?

Meiosis and Mitosis are both the division of something. Meiosis is the division of chromosomes and Mitosis is the division of cells. They both occur in the cell cycle. Meiosis creates 4 daughter cells and Mitosis creates two complete cells.

How is mitosis similar to meiosis ii?

Meiosis II is similar to mitosis in that sister chromatids of each chromosome line up along the metaphase plate and separate into the daughter cells

How is antaphase 2 in meiosis similar to anaphase in mitosis?

In anaphase II in meiosis, the sister chromatids separate and move to opposite poles of the cell, similar to the process of anaphase in mitosis.

How are meiosis and mitosis similar?

They have many similar steps they both have a prophase and an anaphase

The events of meiosis 2 are most similar to what?

mitosis, I believe

Meiosis II is similar to which process?

Mitosis in haploid cells

How are mitosis and meiosis is similar?

They both involve duplicating chromosomes.

Which division in Meiosis is most similar to mitosis?

Meiosis II is similar to mitosis in that sister chromatids of each chromosome line up along the metaphase plate and separate into the daughter cells

How is binary fission in prokaryotic organisms similar and different from mitosis and cytokines in single called eukaryotic organisms?

Mitosis and meiosis present only in eukaryotic cells. No mitosis or meiosis in prokaryotes.

Why are meiosis and mitosis similar?

Because they both result in the formantion of gametes; however there is no genetic variation in meiosis.

Metaphase in mitosis is similar to metaphse1 or metaphase2 of meiosis?

no it isn't the same

In what way meiosis 2 similar to mitosis?

Splits chromosomes in half. (:

In what way is meiosis 2 similar to mitosis?

splits chromes in half

Is mitosis very similar to the first four steps of meiosis?

YES

How do reproductive cells divide?

They go through a process called meiosis, which is similar to mitosis. Mitosis is the splitting of regular cells. Meiosis is the splitting of reproductive cells.

How are mitosis and meiosis similar but different?

Mitosis is the multiplication of cells, which mean any cell in the human body. Meiosis, is the multiplication of reproductive cells in the human body

How is meiosis similar to mitosis?

Both meiosis and mitosis are forms of cell reproduction. They both have a prophase and an anaphase. Both are forms of cell reproduction/Both are forms of nuclear division. Meiosis occurs in generative cells and mitosis in somatic cells.

Why is mitosis is related to meiosis?

Mitosis is the beginning of Meiosis
