One way that paper can be changed is by adding gloss to it. Glossed paper is very smooth and is mainly produced because you can't use lead on it, therefore keeping the paper clean and fresh. The only way you can write on glossed paper without damaging the gloss is by using a marker.

Why the rusting of an iron pole is not physical change?

The rusting of an iron pole is a chemical change. An example of a chemical change would be crumbling a piece of paper. When you are crumbling this piece of paper, the contents of the paper have not change and you are able to uncrumble the paper there is no difference except the paper has wrinkles. :) However in an example of chemical change like a metal rusting, you cannot un-rust it, it was chemically changed. Another example of a chemical change would be burning a piece of paper to ashes.

A phsical change is something that can be changed but cant be changed back. for example: you can crumple a piece of paper but it is still paper. A chemical change means it has been changed perminetly so for example: If you burn the paper its ashes not paper. it was ashes but youy cant change it back into paper. Hope this helps :)

Is ripping up a piece of paper a chemical change?

It is physical because the appearance hasn't changed at all and is the same paper still. For example, if you burned the paper that would be a chemical change because the paper turned into ash and is releasing gas which is a resulting chemical change that has just happened. Hope this helped :) -V

Is a twig being snapped in two a chemical change?

no, a chemical change is when something turns into something else. as an example burning paper is a chemical reaction because the paper turned into ashes and changed. but if you rip a piece of paper in half its still a piece of paper right. did that answer your question

Why is tearing paper physical change not chemical change?

Because ur physically changing the paper. Say u have a 12in paper, and u tear it in half (2 6in papers). You have physically changed the papers appearance. Its not a chemical change because there are no chemicals involved in tearing a paper in half.

What would NOT mean that a chemical change has occurred?

When chemical change has occurred, it means that the object has become something that it will be forever until changed again. For example, when you burn paper, it has become something new, a new substance. That paper has become ashes and will never be paper again.
