The Japanese bombing of the Naval Fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was the impetus of the US entering the war. Japan had failed to declare war on the US prior to the attack. It was therefore considered a malicious, unwarranted attack. The US Congress then voted to declare war on Japan. Later, Adolf Hitler declared war on the US (Japan was Nazi Germany's ally).

The Japanese had attacked the US because they failed to resolve an oil embargo by the US on Japan. In fact, during the attack President Roosevelt was in his office with a Japanese official discussing the embargo and the conflict between the two nations. If you ever get a chance watch the movie Pearl Harbor or the movie Tora Tora Tora and you will see why it all happened and how it happened.

Nothing. "Pearl Harbor" was a Japanese Attack on the United States naval base in Hawaii called Pearl Harbor. The Japanese did not include Jews in their decision to attack Pearl Harbor nor were Jews engaged in the defense of Pearl Harbor, save for those Jews who were American soldiers on the base.
