As the American constituition was well elaborated, based in new ideas from the time (such as the iluminists one's), Brazil, in it's last constituition (made just after the dictatorial military period) got as an example to "build" they're own Constitution, the American constituition.
Brazilians vote directly in the president, while in US the president is elected by the congress. Except for that I believe the differences are more about working culture and local ethics, as both coutries have a presidentialist system.

Brazil is a Portuguese speaking, developing country located in South America. On the other hand, the US is a largely English speaking, developed country located in North America.
