no there is no inertia switch. gmjim
An inertia switch is a safety device that opens the electric circuit so that no power goes to the electric fuel pump if the vehicle is "jarred " enough If you have a bad enough collision or maybe hit a really bad pothole etc. The inertia switch can be manually reset
Nope. It's just the one inertia switch.
THE INERTIA FUEL SHUT OFF SWITCH IS LOCATED IN THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT ON THE DOOR HINGE SUPPORT ABOVE THE LEFT HAND INNER WHEEL HOUSE. Why Can't people read? This question is for RESET switch, not shut-off switch. All the posts I seem to find on reset switch, people are telling you how to hit the shut-off switch, that isn't the same. Reset switch turns it back on after the shut-off has been pushed. It's the same thing. It automatically trips to SHUT OFF the flow of fuel and you press it to RESET it.
driver side board about 8 inches above the dimmer switch
peel back the carpet on passenger side firewall, look towards the center of the vehicle-you will see a little black box with two wires coming out of it and a white rectangular button on top .this is the fuel inertia reset switch. peel back the carpet on passenger side firewall, look towards the center of the vehicle-you will see a little black box with two wires coming out of it and a white rectangular button on top .this is the fuel inertia reset switch.
A 1987 Jeep Cherokee does not have a reset button. The fuel system is computer controlled.
Looke either in the rear driver's side trunk area or in one of the kick panels
It does not have one. you will need to pull the fuel pump relay, or the fuel pump fuse to disable the fuel pump. Ford is the only one that had a shut off switch / INERTIA switch.
How do you change out the clutch on 1987 Ford Escort Gl
There isn't one. GM uses a different function for cutting off the fuel pump. No oil pressure, no fuel pressure..
where is 1987 convertible switch for 1987 325i bmw
how to reset computer 1987 honda civic?
They are not interchangable. The 87 is a 1st generation Escort and the 92 is a 2nd generation Escort.
the switch is way up underneath the dash on the drivers side its a littl black box looking thing with a small switch on top.
I'm not sure , but check in your trunk , hatch area , at the rear - just on the other side of your tail lights . Look for an oval rubber plug , if you remove the rubber plug the inertia switch is behind it
Was wondering the same.. for a Fuel injected 1987 Mazda 626 non-Turbo According to a Mazda dealer I just called. There is no reset switch. The Fuel pump is located in the gas tank. and the Pump Relay is on the firewall of the passenger side. Regards, Yanek What do you want to reset? "Check Engine" codes can be reset by disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes.
It has an automatic fuel shutoff. The Chevrolet S10 does not use a inertia fuel shut down switch, that's a Ford thing.
The Fuel Cut Off switch is actually called the Fuel Inertia Switch and it is located on the passenger side floorboard near the hump underneath the carpet. Just pull the carpet back from the firewall and you will see it. To reset it pull the white tab up (or push down to shut off. But I don't recommend this because tampering with it too much will cause it to fail, and your truck will no longer start until its replaced.)
under dash above dimmer switch small black with 2 wires and white reset button
top of fuel tank
It is either on the firewall to the right of brake pedal. Or it is behind the passenger side kick pannel. I am pretty sure it is behind the passenger side kick pannel.
