The book is the same name, it was written in the 1950's by Clive Staples Lewis (C.S. Lewis). C.S. Lewis was a contemporary of J.R.R. Tolkein (Lord of the Rings etc) and both were Oxford Scholars. It is based on the Christian bible for it's basic storyline - The lion is Jesus and is the first of Seven books called the Chronicles of Narnia.
