It is not very likely that this Syndrome will be passed down because about 1 in every 500 to 800 males inherits this allele.

It is not possible for it to be passed down from parents because it is not a trait or a gene it is just a disorder that happens when the DNA is being copied or if there is some sort of damage done to the DNA but no it canot be passed down from one generation to another.

No, because people with Klinefelter's syndrome are infertile (cannot have children).

Klinefelter syndrome is not inherited. It occurs as a random event during the formation of reproductive cells when an error in cell division results in an abnormal number of chromosomes.See related link for more information.

No. since the person having this genetic disorder is sterile

-Not nessicarly true. With Reproductive help estimated 70% chance of finding sperm through microTESE.

-My doctor advised me that there IS a chance of passing it on to a boy . That is why you have the opportunity to do PGD and other tests.

I believe the rate of klinefelter's in the population is 1 male in every 600 or so. One doesn't "get" Klinefelter's--it's a congenital condition (you have it from birth) in which a male, instead of having the standard XY combination (males have XY; females have XX) instead has XXY. A genetic test must be done to diagnose Klinefelter's Syndrome.

People with Klinefelter's syndrome are infertile because the presence of an extra chromosome prevents them from undergoing meiosis. Therefore, the probability of having a biological child is 0. (However, some may adopt children or have stepchildren.) ...ZERO is incorrect. A urologist can perfrom a testicular extraction and may find tiny amounts of sperm in the testes - enough to father a child....generally you have donated/back up sperm to use with the female just in case. So while the numbers are small - its worth a shot.

There is no statistical prediction on that. There are known cases when the parent (mother) transmits it to two of her three kids, i.e. one of them does not have it. Secondly, nobody knows if the transmission will be a pre-mutation or full mutation

It is not inherited because it is impossible to have a baby if you have Klinefelter's Syndrome.

No, because people with an abnormal number of chromosomes cannot undergo meiosis (which creates eggs and sperm).

Can a male with klinefelters syndrome produce a baby without klinefelters syndrome?

First a testicular biopsy should be done to determine if he has any viable sperm. Some men with this condition do have some viable sperm in their testicles and if he does, in-vitro fertilization may be a possibility. However, if he does not have any viable sperm, then you would need to use donor sperm to become pregnant. Hope this helps.
