How long is probably a discussion to be had with the specialist, first it needs to be determined

if it is even possible to try a reversal by studying the medical records of the woman's surgery.

If the surgery is done there will be healing time and at some point tests to see if the fallopian tubes healed properly.

This is a very individual process, depending on the the method used for the ligation, how the woman heals and the formation of scar tissue. The overall success for a reversal vary greatly from 20% to 70% depending on a woman's age and the damage left after the reversal has healed.

The methods that have proved the most successful for positive results after reversal are tubal ligation that was achieved by clips or rings placed around the tubes or the removal of a small section of the fallopian tubes.

If there is too much damage to realign the tubes with a fairly equal size piece of fallopian tube on either side, the risk of failure or tubal pregnancy is very high. (Before being severed the tubes are tapered.)

Doctors usually will try to talk the woman into IVF or even IVF with donated eggs (depending on her age).

Well it depends on the individual but getting pregnant was the purpose when you reversed it I imagine. You have to check with your doctor if the system works and if you are still fertile and in that case, how much.

If your tubular was anything like mine, it will be impossible. They are not a 'reversalable' type surgery. Ask your doctor and good luck if they can make it work.
