Size varies greatly by species. The smallest adult Spiders are only 1 to 2 mm in length, while the largest ones (the Goliath tarantula and Giant Huntsman) can reach a length of 30 cm (1 foot) and weigh hundreds of times as much.

Specimens have also been identified of a rare Samoan spider that grows to be less than half a millimeter long (0.43 mm), the smallest known spiders in the world.

The longest spider is the Goliath Bird Eater which has an 11 inch leg span. Though there is a fabled Chicken Eater which has an illeged 12 inch leg span
