the remains of a cliff are eroded away and crack form in the bottom of the cliff and so becomes an arch then soon the rest of the cliff that are holding up the arch will fall and then there will be a stack :)

Old Harry is made of up thousands of fossils of a micro organism called Coccoliths.
The old harry was made by erosion and used to be linked to the needles.
Old harry also has a wife named old Harry's wife. This used to be a stack until it collapsed and became a stump. You can only see it on a low tide in the spring!!
I have been to see it and there are 2 other stacks the other side.
Is their names of these and did they used to be a part of the old Harry

∙ 13y agothe old harry stack was found by the coast and are formed by the headland being eroded by the sea, and turning into a cave. The cave then turns into an arch from more erosion and eventually gets smashed into a stack by the sea.

∙ 6y agoThe base of the stack was formed of chalk between 60 and 66 million years ago. When sea levels rose, the chalk eroded between Purbeck and the Isle of Wight. The stack including Old Harry rocks formed from erosion arches in the last 15,000 years, and in 1509 the first stack called Harry's "wife" crumbled to a stump.
