I have never read anything concerning a time frame about the signing. Just from the written thoughts and descriptions my guess would be 20-30 minuted. Ben Franklin may have held things up a bit because he did like to point out the importance of events. It is reported he said, as he signed, "we need to hang together or we will hang separately." He was right. The king considered them traitors.

Although the wording of the Declaration was approved by Congress on July 4, 1776, the date of its signing has been disputed. Most historians have concluded that it was signed nearly a month after its adoption, on August 2, 1776, and not on July 4 as is commonly

It wasn't ratified. Jefferson, Adams, and Jay wrote a draft. Congress had them do 6 rewrites before final approval was given by a vote of the body present in session. Basically the Declaration is an open letter to the king listing the problems with the crown. The kicker comes in the final paragraph stating that the colonies should be free and separate from the crown and declaring war.

It wasn't ratified. In July 1776 it was published and passed out on handbills. In Oct. Congress approved it. Basically the Declaration is an letter to the king telling him why they sought independence and then declaring independence.
