Abbasid contintue to rule from Cairo under the Mamlukes Sultans till 1517. In 1517 the ruling family moved to Ottoman family.

from my perspective I think that the reason that Suleiman's legal code helped sultans rule the ottoman empire because they made a code that would effectively govern the vast and expanding empire
Sulthana had great opposition from the nobles. She could only rule for four years. Nobles did not want a women leader to rule the regin and so she was put to death in the year 1240.
I think the successor is called a caliph which is a title taken by Islamic rulers such as the Turkish sultans that asserts religious authority to rule, derived from that of Muhammad. I hope this helps you.
There was no time limit or constraint as to how long or how little a dynasty could rule. A dynasty in ancient China was basically the time period where people of same lineage (family) were the ruling authority or in imperial China's case : emperor. A dynasty started when China was under full (or near full) control of a new family and ended when the emperor of that family was deposed. Thus there were no time limits.

The Medici Family were an influential and wealthy family under Cosimos rule. All suceeding descendents of the family maintained and upheld their rule.
