No, I have had my male betta fish for 3 years, and not once has he gone into hibernation. Good Luck!
My Beta has been inactive and not feeding for at least a week. He lies at the bottom of the bowl, nearly sideways, apparently sleeping. I haven't tried heating the water yet.

No, Betta fish do not sleep because they can not lie down or else their fins stop working and they die.


they do sleep with their eyes open because they do not have eyelids.

In colder waters, a betta's metabolism will slow down and the fish will not move or eat as much.

Usually no fish hibernate!

Yes.I bought a plant for my fish and he sleeps rigt on the bottom of it he's still as a rock by the way he's not dead.

Yes beta fish go to sleep the stay somewhere and they dont move dont go tapping on the glass he/she is asleep let them sleep like you need ur sleep they do to.

Betta fish to not hibernate. If you fish is acting lethargic, make sure that the water is not too cold (78 to 80F is best), and that the water is clean.
