That would depend on the kind of crab you're talking about. The typical lifespan of a mud crab is thought to be 3 or 4 years while hermit crabs have an average lifespan of 10 years but can live up to 30 years.

Each type of crab has a different life span. Blue Crabs only live for about three years. A King Crab has a life span of 14 years.
