Porcupines have needles to protect themselves. Predators do not want to be stuck with the needles so they avoid hunting and eat this animal.
Porcupines have quills which look like needles on their backs. These protect the porcupine against predators and come contain a poison.

Not at all. Echidnas and porcupines are not even remotely related. Echidnas are monotremes, or egg-laying mammals. porcupines are placental mammals, a quite different order of mammals.
Most children are afraid of needles. They hate how long the needles are and it scares them that it goes through the skin and cause pain.
