I still think the best way to fry a steak, is to just have a go at it. Different cookers and different steaks means its really hard to know the exact timing. Best bet is slap it on a medium-ish heat, oil a bit, let the oil heat up, then put the steak in. If you see a load of smoke come up quickly, might be a good idea to turn the heat down and flip the steak over. You don't want it charing on the outside so early.
