How long did the democrats have control of the house and senate under Obama?

The Democrats did not have majorities in the House and Senate
for very long-- about twenty-two months total. Mr. Obama took
office in January 2009 when both the house and senate were majority
Democrats. But by November 2010, when the mid-term elections took
place, the House changed control to the Republicans. And the
Democrats still maintained a slim majority in the Senate.
