If you are an Israeli citizen, you get recruited into the Israeli Defense Force when you graduate high school around age 17/18 you do training for a bit and then have to serve for two or so years.

∙ 12y agoA couple of years, moslty not more then 5 years. I thought 3 years for men and 2 years for women. Israeli women also have to serve. In Israel the whole Jewish population serves (80 %) and the Arab-Druzan population (4-8%). Arab-Muslim and Arab-christians are allowed if they want. Also openly homosexual Israelis are allowed to serve in the army and are protected by law.

∙ 9y agoThe women who are drafted are required to serve for two years. There are a number of women who are exempt from service for a variety of reasons (Arab-Israelis, criminals, physically infirm, etc.).
