Land hermit crabs can live many years if properly cared for. I have had one for over 11 years now. If your crab dies after three months- or worse, one week!- then you either bought a sick crab or you're doing something very wrong. something wrong meaning feeding too much or to little not wetting the sponge very often, changing the water every day or giving them baths
and i have one too and it dies lastnight or today. we have him for 5 months.
sorry this probably isn't the answer to your question but hermit crabs are really hard to breed because when the babies hatch on the water they need to swim around and find food in the water. I found hemit crab eggs in the water but obvisly they died.
All their lives. they carry their home with them. When they grow they just transfer to a bigger one. Keep some empty extras with your crab so it can change over when the time comes. He will do it only when it's dark and no one is around.
Hermit Crabs can live 10+ years with the proper care.
Somewhere around 2-4 weeks. The female carries the eggs in her shell and then drops them into the ocean when they are ready.
The female carries the eggs in her shell for a few weeks and they hatch almost as soon as they hit the water.
Hermit crabs do not get pregnant, they lay eggs. They have never been recorded reproducing in captivity.
If you have a pet hermit crab, they don't generally tend to mate in captivity.

How long do they live
Honey they live in salt water come on.
Small fish, plankton, and other hermit crabs
In captivity, they live 1-2 years.
Your pet hermit crabs were harvested from the wild, as it is nearly impossible, without a very complex set up, for hermit crabs to hatch and live past the zoea stage. Generally this complex of a setup is only found in scientific laboratories, as one must mimic the fluctuating tides of the ocean. As far as I know, even scientists have an extremely hard time breeding hermit crabs with success in captivity. There are times when one may purchase a female hermit crab that is already carrying eggs, and you may find them in your marine salt water dish (you should definitely have marine salt water available to them, they need it for molting), but they won't survive long if they hatch at all.
If you mean land hermit crabs, no, they don't. Hermit crabs of all sizes can get along just find as long as you: 1. Have enough room. Think of it as 3-5 gallons per crab needed. 2. Are feeding them protein and calcium along with fresh fruits and veggies.
An hour or so
As long as there is no seasonings
No, Hermit Crabs and Fiddler crabs require two different environments. The Hermit Crab would drown in the water a Fiddler Crab needs. You can always ask your local pet store if there is any way possible though. Some hermit crabs live on land others live in water even land hermit need two enter salt water , fiddler crabs are brackish or fresh hermit crabs can't breathe in those environments
