Normally an Antibiotic will stay in your system no longer than 24 hours. That is why it is important to take all of your antibiotic and not miss a day. It exits the body rather quickly.

Antibiotics take 2-3 weeks to leave your system. They simply clean up the infection and prevent a further infection.

Antibiotics taken while on BCP cause the a decrease in the effectiveness of BCP. Because of this you need to use a condom.

That is way too broad. It all depends on the type of antibiotic, such as is it protein or non-protein bound, the patients metabolism, their liver function, and their kidney function.

As for severe allergic reaction, rarely will the 1/2 life of the drug be more than a few hours.

Each antibiotic is different. On average they leave the system after a few hours which is why a individual has to take the pills at regularly scheduled intervals to be able to kill a infection.

Antibiotics are rated in a measurement called half times. It takes five half times for the antibiotics to leave the system, so you will need to find out the half time for that particular antibiotic.

How long should I stay in bed with acute tonsillitis- please not this is not after surgery Im just on antibiotics?

You should stay in bed for as long as you feel unwell. Your body will tell you how long you need to rest. Generally I would relax and take it easy for a couple of days to let the antibiotics truly work.

You should stay out of school for 2-3 days, if the antibiotics are contributing to making you feel better.

How long do antibodics stay in your system?

It depends on the antibiotic. But the thing is, it's very rare for anyone to test for antibiotics. The only reason I'd want to test someone for antibiotics is if I was their doctor and I was trying to see how their body was taking up the drugs. They are not a drug of abuse--you can't get high on them.
