In a commercial situation, piglets are usually left with their mother for up to 4 weeks. In Australia the law is that a sow can only be left in a sow stall for up to 6 weeks maximum. Farmers move their sows into sow stalls 2 weeks before they are due to give birth to give them time to get used to their new surroundings. This prevents them from aborting during the final stages of their pregnancy due to the stress of their new surroundings and parturition at the same time.

By the way, a pig's gestation length is 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days - no joke!

About 3-4 weeks. By 5 weeks they should be fully weaned, and in separate cages by gender.
