Rashes are almost entirely caused by an allergic reaction; probably something in your medication or your skincare ingredients. Pumpkin seed extract minimizes almost all inflammation to the skin. It minimizes the conversion of histimine to histidine, phospholipids, archidonic acid, prostaglandins and leucotriens in the cell membranes which cause inflammation. I'm a scientist and the only product that has helped my rash actually go away is a product by Hylunia called "Healing and Restoring Creme". It's only sold to licensed spas. Unfortunately, they don't sell their product on-line, so it's difficult to get. Call your nearest Spa to see if they carry Hylunia products...you may get lucky. I've tried various prescribed medications from several doctors over the past 2 years. This is the only product that has worked for me. Good luck

On a human being, it can depend on such things, such as your immune system. I was unfortunately to develop a small spot of it a few months ago. I used Lamisil AT to treat it and it seemed to heal and become less itchy within a week. I do, however, still have a tiny bit of a scar because of it. I honestly wouldn't recommend using it. It may take the look away but it isn't worth it because putting most types of makeup on a shingles rash would irritate the rash even more.

How long are shingles contagious after taking medication?

Shingles is only contagious before the blisters and sores dry. Once they're scabbed over, the virus is not contagious. Remember that shingles can only be spread by direct contact with the lesions. You can't get shingles from someone unless you touch their wet lesions. You won't get it from riding a bus with them, eating with them, or being in the same room with them. Patients with shingles can continue normal activities, including school and work, as long as the lesions are covered.Children do not get attack of shingles before they get chicken pox. You get attack of shingles only after you have had chicken pox.

It is recommended that you take an antiviral agent if you have shingles. Keep the skin clean. Do not go swimming or to the gym. When the rash dries, you can go back to your regular activities. If you pop the pimples, clean the skin first and use rubbing alcohol to clean the area first and sterilize any needle you use to pop the blister.
