I am wondering too. My left ovary was completely stuck behind my cervix, from adhesions. I was in pain for about a year. Before that, I was in pain with the same ovary, had laproscopy to remove the adhesions and I was pain free for 4 months.

I was being treated for endometriosis without a confirmed diagnosis.

So, As I was being scheduled for laproscopy again to remove the adhesions this time, I asked the doc to just remove the ovary. It keeps getting stuck, and I am sick of being in pain!

Well, while they were giving me Pre op testing, I found out that the RIGHT ovary was the size of a softball and pushing everything over to the left...yet the left was stuck behind the middle!

I had the surgery, they removed the adhesions, and the left ovary. I had a biopsy done on the right ovary and had the cyst removed.

I have an appointment in 2 days. I am hoping that if the right ovary was bad news, or if they found endometriosis, I would have been notified....then again , it is less then a week ago and I am going to find out in 2 days. Waiting SUCKS!

I am married and 32. Thankfully, I have 2 beautiful girls (a 2 year old biologically and a 12 year old that we adopted) and our family is complete. I am hopeing the right ovary is ok, because if I lose that one, it means menapause in my 30's...which could not be fun for ANYONE. I will post when I find the results.

I have recentley had this surgery 02/04/2012 I am going to answer this question on my recoverey period only. With saying that I'm not a doctor, nurse or even a medical student.

I have suffered with problems with my ovaires, womb and tubes since I was 14 years old; I had my first op at 15 which was a divission of the hyimen, after this it was discovered 18 months later I had a 5 inch long and 2 inch wide absess within my right ovary I had this removed by key hole surgery (Laparoscopic)! This procedure is very quick an your out and awake from surgery within an hours time. After the surgery do take your time it is a small operation but and I mean BUT! Its very painful the procedure includes an incision being made in your belly button for either a camera or to fill you with gas or even both which I had on both occassions. This gas is what I believe is the most painful process of the whole surgery, it leaves you with pains in your chest as I can only describe as a mini heart attack! Its very uncomfortable but does fade after a day or so. As for the incision the belly button is the worst and also looks the worst to, it very swollen bruised and sore to touch. The actual key hole surgery is very small and minimal which you can barley see it. This does not really give me pain compared to the gas pain and also the belly button incision.

Its know been 2 days after my surgery and I'm still very swollen, I'm a small build weighing 8 stone and I'm about 5.3" tall I have included this as everybody is different including size, hieght, weight. I'm sure my body will be back to its normal self shortly. Plenty of rest, water, pillows, covers etc and you will be back to your normal self between 4-5 days.

How long does an endometrial biopsy take?

The procedure to take the biopsy should be fast (about 10mins). How long the histological examination takes depends on the kind of examination, but should be quick. However, most examination centra are very busy, so it can take days - weeks before your biopsy is evaluated (and you receive word from it).

How long does it take for a stereotactic breast biopsy hematoma to go away?

Sadly that varies patient to patient. Depending on how big the hematoma is, it can take a week to several weeks to go away. If you have had a hematoma for more than 2 weeks post biopsy, or have redness, oozing at the biopsy site, see your physician immediately to be sure there is no infection.
