Depends on what type you are using. If the tanner tans by pigments in the tanning cream, several good washings of the skin will lighten your skin considerably. If the tanner tans by stimulating your skin to make more melanin, your skin will change color when it renews itself, which will take a few weeks.

The lotion comes off as fast as you can wipe or wash it off, unless you've already rubbed it in.

As to the color left behind: how long it lasts is inversely proportional to how much you hate it, or love it.

to be a little more helpful, speed it up by using a loofah or another exfoliating method when you are showering.

For the best results, put the lotion on imediately before tanning. It wears off when you take a shower. I'm not exactly sure how long it takes to wear off when you don't shower though...

WHen tanning in a uv bed do you have to use tanning lotion?

You don't necessarily have to use a tanning lotion, however many will highly recommend it. Tanning lotions help you to get a darker color faster, plus if you go in a tanning bed with dry skin, 60% of the rays are bouncing off of you, so that's money wasted. On top of that tanning lotions have a lot of vitamins and minerals that help prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

Should you wait 6 to 7 hours to shower after you tan in a tanning bed?

This is just my personal opinion. I usually tan after I take a shower because I feel like when I shave my legs after tanning that I'm shaving the tan off. I use a lotion that smells good after tanning and the salon I go to has deodorant in the rooms that I use when I get out. I also feel like a get a better tan because the shower opens my pores.

First off, it is imperative that you choose the correct amount of time to tan in a tanning bed. If it is your first time every tanning and you have light skin, then it is a good idea to error on the side of caution and tan for only 5 to 8 minutes. You do not want to become burned after your first time using a tanning bed! If you have olive skin and can easily tan, then you may want to choose doing a few extra minutes. You also do not want to get nothing out of your tanning session. Second, it is important to have some sort of tanning lotion you can apply before using the bed. What is the difference between bronzer accelerator and amplifier tanning lotion?

Accelerators, maximizers, and intensifiers are all sort of "generic" terms for tanning lotion. These lotions generally have no bronzers. Accelerator is a term most used to describe a "beginner" tanning lotion, something to help start your tan. Do not be afraid of these words, it doesn't mean you will burn. They will help you tan. You should never tan without an indoor tanning lotion. Maximizers and intersifiers are generally the "second step" tanning lotion for a more experienced tanner - HOWEVER - it DOES NOT mean you can't start out with these lotions. The maximizer lotions have extras for the more experienced tanner such as Theraplexin, which increases the body's rate of DNA repair by up to 400% and produces a deeper darker tan for an extended period of time. This does not necessarily mean that a beginner can't use this lotion, but it does mean the lotion costs more. Bronzer lotions enhance your tan with "extra color". Sometimes bronzers are just cosmetic color, the kind that will just wash off. Some bronzers are a derivitave of DHA which is a type of self-tanner. Some bronzers today have dual, triple and even quadruple bronzers. Designer Skin makes awesome "low maintenance" bronzers that will not streak or stain or turn a funky color. Is it bad to tan indoor and use tanning lotion then shower?

You don't necessarily HAVE to but it dries out your skin quickly, lessens your ability to tan and probably even more unhealthy for your skin. Also, I've found if you don't use lotion you kind of stick to the bed and it's very uncomfortable.

Does loreal sublime bronze tinted self-tanning lotion wash off after one use?

If you want it to, then yes. If you scrub with a sponge nicely it'll come off but if you want it to stay on don't use one. But remember there might be some streaking regardless!

Should you get a spray tan im 16 and what will help if it looks kinda orange any lotions?

go to a tanning salon, and go in a tanning bed. you'll get vitamin d. spray tan is horrible, there is nothing to help it look less orange-y. When and if you go tanning, be sure to use a tanning lotion, as well moisturizing your body with a body lotion after tanning, before bed, and after bathing. so that your skin doesn't dry out. okay. STAY AWAY FROM SPRAY TANS!!!! Sorry but, this is INSANE! Tanning bed's are very unhealthy and if you use the spray tan's properly you will not look orange. Go to a tanning salon and use their spray booth, but be sure to apply the blocking lotion they provide to your hands and nails; and lightly to your knees, elbows and tops of your feet. Also be sure to dry off well with a towel as soon as you get out to avoid any splotting. Using a tanning bed can cause skin cancer just as easily as the sun can and you will look older much quicker. If you follow this above advice (though I highly recommend not following it) be sure to cover your face with a thick towel and use self-tanner/ bronzer later. Covering your face in a tanning bed will save you on botox and chemical peels in the future. HONESTLY, I would get a spray tan in a booth over a tanning bed. Some locations have the clear solution that doesn't rub off on your clothes & some also has a bronzing solution. The bronzing solution is more of a brown color so you don't have to worry about looking orange. But you do have to be careful to not wear nice clothes if you were to get the bronzing solution because it does rub off on your clothes. It will wash out though.
