To be a registered mammo tech you must be a certified RT(R) which usually takes a minimum of two years and then you have continuing education. You have to meet state requirements, which includes a certain amount of continuing education, on the job training and documentation, and that is more self paced with your employment. To be truly certified mammo tech you must pass another state board exam. Then you truly become a RT(R)M.
