It really depends on how much start up cash you have. You don't have to obtain any formal training as you are in business for yourself. You might want to check out a couple of guides on becoming a wedding planner.

Wedding planners usually start out as event planners, then narrow the focus. There is no standard of time to become a wedding planner; the profession is predicated on experience as well as talent, both learned and innate. It is important, too, to establish a solid network of related services and other professionals, and that takes time cultivate and nurture.

There are no college courses for wedding planning. I would find a local planner and see if he/she would take you on as an apprentice. You might want to take a class in flower arrangements, table settings, and something in art, but there is no course of study for this profession.

While training is not required to become a wedding planner, it is almost certainly helpful. Not only can it help you learn techniques on starting your own wedding planner business, but they will also teach you how to deal with a multitude of aspects that you will face. If you are still in high school, I would suggest perhaps calling other wedding planners in your area and asking them if they would take you on as a mentor. You will more than likely not get paid for such services, but the education you would receive from them will be priceless in the long run.

A wedding designer doesn't plan a wedding, he designs it. The wedding planner has to plan every single details of the wedding : guests, outfits, ceremony, reception, food, drinks, music, photos, wedding cake... He's the wedding coordinator. Whereas the wedding designer is in charge of the decoration only. Also, some wedding planners take care of the decoration too. As I do. It can be less expensive if the wedding planner is in charge of everything. I hope it can help you. Johanna, Cherry Wedding : wedding planner Paris

It varies greatly depending on the size of the wedding, how much the planner does and your location... a planner in Toronto will definitely make alot more than one in Eyebrow Saskatchewan. +_+ At some churches it is a "ministry," and the planners do not take money. At some churches it is a donation (usually around $100US). If you are hiring a professional wedding planner, you will spend $250-750 for their service. +_+

Wedding planners can play an important part in creating a memorable day for a bride and groom. Successful wedding planners have plenty of ideas when it comes to wedding decorations, reception venues, flowers, photography, and more. It is important for an engaged couple to choose a wedding planner who is both successful and easy to work with. The first step in choosing an efficient wedding planner is to make a list of potential candidates. Itโ€™s wise to include local wedding planners as well as individuals whoโ€™ve been recommended by other couples. After making the list, a couple should contact the wedding planners and express a desire to talk with them. A professional wedding planner is likely to go out of his or her way to arrange to speak with an engaged couple in need of planning help.Next, a couple should create a list of questions to ask the wedding planners. A couple should ask about the experience of the person as well as what he or she charges. Many successful wedding planners will have photographs and other samples from weddings they have worked on. A wedding planner may also outline what he or she does to help a couple decide on the location of the wedding reception or even how to choose the wedding flowers. Most importantly, a wedding planner should listen to the ideas of the couple and answer any questions they have. After all, an ambitious wedding planner is anxious to garner a solid reputation. After considering the candidates, the couple should make a final decision on who they want to plan their wedding. The person should be easy to work with, creative, flexible, and willing to go out of his or her way to fulfill the coupleโ€™s wishes. In addition, a savvy wedding planner understands that a wedding can create a lot of stress for a couple. Consequently, he or she makes sure to keep the atmosphere as light as possible and tries to lessen the stress for the couple.Selecting the right wedding planner can take a great deal of stress off an engaged couple and allow them the opportunity to enjoy their big day.

What is your question? Is it1. If a professional wedding planner is getting married, do they pay for their own wedding?OR is your question2. Do professional wedding planners pay for their clients weddings? If your question is #1 then of course they pay for their weddings, planners are people just like anyone else; who have to pay for goods and services but being a planner they should have a good relationship with many vendors(photographers, stationers, bakers, florists, bands) and they will probably work out a discount with these vendors because they are friends and have professional relationships w/each other. If your question is #2 then the answer is No! why would a complete stranger pay for someone else's wedding? Wedding planners/coordinators are running a business, not a charity. A wedding planner plans, implements and coordinates all wedding related efforts for their clients, some even own event design companies that take care of florals, lighting, rentals and all decor as well as wedding planning but wedding planners get paid for planning weddings.
