It really depends on your body type. It takes a few months, but this can be decreased by combining the diet with exercise. You can be + 30 pounds or -30 pounds from this weight point and your body will not do anything. But if you go over or under by 50 pounds, your body goes into a mode where it starts decreasing metabolic or bodily functions in order to preserve metabolic energy. If you go too high.. your metabolic reactions increase and you become more active without noticing it ( moving arms, fidgeting).

It all depends on your intake of calories per day. Now you want to base your diet on about 1500 to 2000 calories a day. Do about an hour of cardio a day, 4-5 days a week, watch your food and you will see results in about a month or 2.
