it all depends on the dosage of methadone and how often you take the dose. If you are in a treatment program you should not be using heroin. Talk to your counselor or somebody else you trust about your cravings. if you are not in a methadone maintenance program I suggest you get into one.

In Maryland they start you off at 30mgs of Methadone, liquid. From there you can go up by 5 mgs a day for so many days. 90mgs is about the maximum dose but 30mgs holds you just fine. But when addicts are asked if they want to go up on their dose, most say yes. But its that much harder to come off of a dose of 90mgs then 30mgs. I was on Methadone maintenance for about 1 yr. Then switched to suboxone.

It will make you feel very euphoric as if you were taking heroin. This only lasts temporarily and when a stable dose is found, ranging anywhere from 5 - 200mg daily, you will feel mostly normal. Giving methadone to somebody else can easily kill them. Your dose is designed for you, what is OK for you could kill somebody else. And if that should happen, you would be charged.
